Coach Orientation Spring 2022 Deck

Please use the document above to determine the correct amount to pay the referee teams.  Also, please do not forget, the referee team is not expected to make change, so you should have exact change in the amounts that will be easy for the team to pay each person.

*Please note the Minor league (4u,5u,6u,7u,8u) will NOT receive a referee check as coaches will NOT pay referees directly this season.

RYSA will pay referees directly.

Coaching Resources

Coaches- whether new or established, thank you!  Without you, we have no league.  As coaches, no matter what the level, we are all called to do our best to develop our players. As such, you will want to develop yourself as a coach.  With Rowlett, you have help!  Please reach out to Vernon with any questions you may have @ vernoncookpt@hotmail.com.  Ensure you have a seasonal plan for your team, as well as an individual plan to develop each player.

Major League will Interleague with Wylie Soccer Association for Spring 2023

ATTN: RYSA Coaches and Teams,

For the Spring 2023 season RYSA Major League (U9 to U18) will interleague with Wylie Youth Soccer, Royse City Youth Soccer, Caddo Mills, and Richardson Youth Soccer.

Wylie Youth Soccer will be managing the Major League schedule this season and we are very grateful for Wylie stepping up to do it as it can be a challenging process.

You will receive emails from Wylie Youth Soccer regarding schedules this season instead of RYSA.  You are still a RYSA team with scheduling managed by Wylie Youth.

Team officials (Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Team Mangers), PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR EMAILS ARE UP TO DATEAND FUNCTIONING.  We communicate via email and social media so it is paramount that your contact information is functional.

Thanks and play ball!

Practice & Uniforms

-       Please be sure to get in contact with ALL your players to coordinate the best days and times to start practice.

-       Uniforms – Coach is responsible for coordinating with the parents to pick out a uniform and get it ordered. There must be a player number on the back of the jersey and avoid putting names on the jersey. A few options are Soccer City or All Sports Etc.

SafeSport Certification Tips

  • The Access Code works (NTSSA has checked it and it is valid). YC3E-6P5G-YYIL-CS2M
  • Do Not Copy & Paste the Code.  Make sure to type the code in the correct field.
  • Some devices will reject the code, due to the type of internet that is supporting that device.  If your phone rejects the code, try a desktop computer, and vice versa.
  • Microsoft Edge does not seem to support the code.  Try to use Chrome or FireFox.
  • Make sure to use the same name and email address that you are registered in Got Soccer.  If the name or email doesn't match, it will not link to your Coach or Team Manager account.
  • If you still run into issues after trying these tips, please reach out to registrar@rowlettsoccer.org for assistance.

SafeSport Certification Required to all Volunteers starting

January 1,2020

To all North Texas Soccer Coaches/Managers:

Beginning January 1, 2020 coaches and managers must have completed the SafeSport Course Certification before being rostered to a youth team or to remain on the roster of a youth team.

Online awareness/prevention training is available at no cost to North Texas State Soccer Association Coaches, Managers and Team Contacts through the U.S. Center for SafeSport.

Login to your GotSport Coaches/Managers account and the link for SafeSport Certification will be on your Home page.  Make sure you use the same name and email address as the one you have in your GotSport profile.  This will ensure your SafeSport Certification completion will show in your GotSport profile.

Thank you for your participation in soccer and for working to keep our children safe!

If you have any questions about registering for the course, please contact Tina Greene - Registrar.

FIFA 11+

The “FIFA 11+ ” is a complete warm-up program to reduce injuries among male and female football players aged 14 years and older. The program was developed by an international group of experts, and its effectiveness has been proven in a scientific study. Teams that performed the “FIFA 11+ ” at least twice a week had 30-50% fewer injured players. The program should be performed, as a standard warm-up, at the start of each training session at least twice a week, and it takes around 20 minutes to complete. Prior to matches, only the running exercises (parts 1 and 3) should be performed. For all exercises, correct performance is of great importance. Therefore, the coach should supervise the program and correct the players if necessary.
