What is an Academy?

A Soccer 'ACADEMY' is a team made up of NTSSA registered recreational players whose playing age group designation is U7 to U10 who desire to participate with other players without following the recreational team formation rules.

These ACADEMY Players MUST register with a member association in order to be reported as an NTSSA sanctioned player.  Only sanctioned players may participate in any events and tournaments that are sanctioned by North Texas State Soccer Association.  They may or may not be on a recreational team.

Purpose of Academy Soccer:

• Provide players who have aspirations of becoming a more accomplished player an avenue to test and enhance their skills.
   
• Provide players an opportunity to train with experienced coaches.
   
• Provide players an opportunity to investigate the level of play with which they are comfortable, which players they would like to play with, and for which coaches they would like to play for.

The Academy form is specific to an individual player and  should not be completed or paid for by the Academy team.

When registering your player, please use your player's Got Sport Account. DO NOT USE your club account to register as an Academy Player.

This form is required for player participation in all NTSSA academy programs or tournaments.  

• Current RYSA recreational players are not required to pay an additional fee for Academy.  Email registrar@rowlettsoccer.org for more information on completing the Academy form.
   
• Recreational players who also play on an academy soccer team, MUST have their academy form validated by their recreational home association.
   
• Academy ONLY registered players can register with RYSA no matter where they live.
   
• Registered Academy Players are not placed on a team by RYSA. You must find your own academy team.

NO REFUNDS FOR ACADEMY REGISTRATION ONCE THE FORM IS SIGNED BY RYSA.

FORMS ARE NOT RETURNED THE SAME DAY, FORMS ARE RETURNED WITHIN 1-2 BUSINESS DAYS.

When registering your player, please use your player's individual Got Sport Account. DO NOT USE your club account to register as an Academy Player.

Please note Academy forms are not returned to the same day, please allow 1-2 business days.  During our busy times it can take up to one week to process and return forms so please plan accordingly.

NTSSA ACADEMY TOURNAMENT ROSTER

An Academy Tournament roster is a roster of appropriate Academy aged players (U7-U10) who are participating in a tournament. All players listed on the roster must have an existing validated academy form for the current soccer year.  RYSA uses the electronic form for North Texas Soccer Association.

Teams outside North Texas must follow your State Association rules for a properly executed Official State Roster.

U7-U10 North Texas State Soccer Association teams follow these steps for a State Association Official Roster.

1. Obtain a current validated Academy Registration form from all players who will be playing in the tournament.  If a player does not have a form, forward the link below to the parents for them to obtain the proper validations for their Academy player.  
    
2. Complete  NTSSA Academy Team Tournament Roster with all pertinent information.  Please list players in alphabetical order by last name.  Please ensure that each player has a unique jersey number.   

NTSSA Academy Tournament Roster

1. Submit the completed NTSSA Academy Team Tournament Roster with copies of ALL Validated Academy Player Forms for validation EACH TIME a roster is submitted for a tournament.  These forms may be submitted via email to registrar@rowlettsoccer.org.  NEW COACHES WILL NEED TO DO BACKGROUND CHECK BEFORE ROSTER IS VALIDATED.
