To develop, promote, and regulate a soccer program for the youth of the cities of Rowlett and Rockwall as defined by voting precincts, in order to foster, through organized competitive athletic activity, the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, and courage.
Thank you for your patience and continued support during these unprecedented times. Our board has been working to come up with a decision for the Fall season, while making sure that we keep in mind that our top priority would be the health and safety of our players, referees, families, etc. We opened registration for 3 weeks, to give a voice to our parents and coaches. The outcome was an extremely low response rate in registrations. During our board meeting, we discussed many options, however, it was determined that it would be best that we cancel our Fall 2020 season until things become more stable for our children. This was not an easy decision. We understand the importance of social activities and keeping children active, we hope that some stability in normal practices will take place over the next few months, and we can come back better than ever for a Spring season. We apologize for any inconveniences that this may have caused anyone.
In making this decision, we considered each of our children's health, safety, and our families' financial situations. We felt that we would give this pandemic an opportunity to level out as well as our financial situations to become more stable. We will offer the returning minor league (U4-U10) players from Spring 2020 discount, when we open registration in the Spring.
It is our hope that you understand and support our position as we plan and look forward to our Spring 2021 season.

Monday Night Skills!
RYSA Minor League Families,
The RYSA Board met this week to make a final decision on the status of the Spring season for U4-U10 players. As you know, we had completed 2 weekends of games when the pandemic struck and shut us and many other organizations down.
We have been holding out hope that we could play a few more games in June and salvage a bit more of our current season. However, with much deliberation and taking into consideration, all of the factors such as player safety and precautions that must be met to remain compliant, we have decided to cancel the remaining of the season. While this was not an easy decision, we feel it is ultimately the right one for the safety of our players, referees, and our families.
To recap earlier email communications, we will not be providing refunds, as the association has been responsible for spring costs associated with any player that has practiced and played any games. However, we will be discounting next season for every U4-U10 player that was registered for the Spring. The discount will be $40 off registration fees for the next season. We settled on this amount to balance out the financial impacts to our RYSA families and to ensure any question of solvency for RYSA to be able to provide a platform for next season.
If you registered your player to participate in the Solar Monday Night Skills, further information and instructions will be coming out in the next week regarding a non-contact, spaced restart beginning June 15th.
Fall registration information will be sent out in the next few weeks. This will be a modified version of regular registration to assume as little financial risk as possible on the part of our families, as well as RYSA. More info to follow soon.
We want to sincerely thank our RYSA families for your support during this unprecedented and difficult time. While we would love nothing more than to have our players back out on the fields, above all else we want them to be safe and healthy.
RYSA Major League Parents (U11-U17)
Due to the extending circumstances surrounding our ability to provide some level of game activities for major league players, the board met on May 6th to decide a plan of action going forward. It was decided at this time to cancel the Spring 2020 season and issue full refunds for each player, via a check.
Once your team coach has returned the full referee fee to the RYSA office, we will provide the coach their team's player's refund checks. It will be your coach's responsibility to get your player's refund check to you.
The registrar will contact you via email the day that your coach is given the refund checks. Parents can then work with their coach to get the registration fee refund.
We do apologize for this unfortunate turn of events, however we feel it is the fairest thing to do for the majority of Major league players and their families.
We hope to see all of you return in the Fall.

By being placed on 'wait list', this does not guarantee a placement. This also means if you are returning, you will be placed last. If there is no room on your previous team, you will be put into the pool. If we need more players, we will contact you, and you must remit payment ASAP in order to qualify as completely registered to then be placed onto a team.
We will not place your child onto a team until payment is received and birth certificate is either uploaded to their profile or provide to our office (birth certificates are only required for new players to RYSA).
SafeSport Certification Tips
SafeSport Certification Required to all Volunteers starting
To all North Texas Soccer Coaches/Managers:
Beginning January 1, 2020 coaches and managers must have completed the SafeSport Course Certification before being rostered to a youth team or to remain on the roster of a youth team.
Online awareness/prevention training is available at no cost to North Texas State Soccer Association Coaches, Managers and Team Contacts through the U.S. Center for SafeSport.
Login to your GotSoccer Coaches/Managers account and the link for SafeSport Certification will be on your Home page. Make sure you use the same name and email address as the one you have in your GotSoccer profile. This will insure your SafeSport Certification completion will show in your GotSoccer profile.

The U12 Girls Firecrackers represented RYSA at last weekend's TOC and finished 2nd out of 39 teams! The total numbers from NTSA were 441 teams, 121 cities sent, and 39 teams in their division. Coach Kehrer is so thankful for this season and RYSA, and said the girls will forever remember this weekend!
