FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions
Ø Regular Spring registration deadline is January 28, 2012. LATE Registration deadline is February 4, 2012.
Ø Online registration only accepts credit card payments. If you must pay with a personal check, please go to the RYSA office during posted office hours for paper registration. Birth certificate copies can be uploaded into your player's account or faxed to RYSA. Payment and copies of birth certificates are due by February 4th and if not received will delay and possibly deny placement of your player on a team.
Ø If you are not a resident in the city of Rowlett, it is your responsibility to contact your home association and submit a player release request to them. This is the same process followed by all soccer associations. RYSA will not do this on your behalf nor will we follow up with the releasing association. Please be aware that there is an admin fee for a release from all associations and that fee does vary in price. These releases are good for a soccer year, i.e. a Fall and Spring season. Every Fall season you must get a newly signed release. If you are joining us for the 1st time during the Spring season, you do need to obtain a release.
Ø Regular season play begins February 25, 2012 and runs through May 19, 2012. Spring season dates may vary slightly for U10-U16 leagues who may participate in interleague with other local associations which will require travel outside of Rowlett for some games.
Ø A player must be 4 years old by December 31, 2011 to participate in the Spring 2012 season.
Ø Coaches must register every season if they wish to return to coaching. Please see the COACHES link on the left.
Ø If you played on a team in Fall 2011 and WANT to return to that same team be sure you choose “yes” on the return to team question when registering.
Ø The Free Agent\Draft Pool is for those players who are new to RYSA or who wish to go to another team other than the one they played on the previous season. All players in the Draft Pool will be placed on a team at random.
Ø Team practice days and times are set by coaches. The association has no knowledge of these and therefore cannot grant requests for specific practice nights.
Ø Uniform cost is not included in the registration cost. This cost will be collected by your player’s coach and will be $25 and up depending on the uniform. If you are returning to a team the decision to use the same uniforms or purchase new ones is up to the coach and/or his/her team.
Ø U5 and U6 play an 8 game season. These divisions may have a 1 week delay to start the season. All divisions play the majority of games on Saturdays and Sundays. U8 and up can expect weeknight games.
Ø Coaches will begin contacting players in mid February.
